I'm definitely with you about steamers being a good runner up to lobsters. Having grown up in Massachusetts though and moved to Seattle they're much easier to get out here.

Here's a recipe I really like for them: http://wp.me/puWta-5p

Also, a good lobster bisque recipe if you're interested: http://wp.me/puWta-2Q

Great blog!

Aunt Maggies Honey Lemonade Recipe: 1/2 gallon warm water, 1/2 cup honey, 1/4 cup sugar, 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice. Just mix it all with your hands (their warmth will disolve the honey and sugar) and pour mixture into a gallon container filled 3/4 with ice. You can experiment with different style honeys for more unique blends.

Yes, we suggest a nice glass of Chardonnay, ice cold beer, and home made lemonade for the kids. And it does not have to be summer time to enjoy a lobster roll!

20 pound lobster-- Wow! that's a huge lobster. How did you cook it?

Lobster that big can't come from Maine. Maine laws has a .maximum legal size of 5 inches carapace-length. If you are looking for a huge lobster-- let us know. We will see what we get in. We always have 5-6 pounders. Three pounds and up Jumbo lobsters will come from the deep waters off Canada, Massachusetts, or New Hampshire.

When I live in New York I used to have fresh, whole Jumbo lobsters shipped in. They were gigantic. We would have a 20# or 25# lobster and fee 10 people. had to use a hammer to get through the shell. We cut "steaks from the tail.
