I ordered from your website for the holiday season this year as a fun treat for my family who is unable to get together much but every several years or so… My 86 year old father spent all his summers growing up in Maine as did my brother in his footsteps. They have fond memory’s of being Maniac’s. Their fondest memory is of fresh Lobster. We had it for special occasions often when I lived on the east coast a long long time ago. As time goes on my family is dispersed across the country. For the first time in a long time we were all getting together in Sacramento Calif this year for holiday season…I had the big idea of ordering lobsters to be delivered from your web site. The day the little critters supposed arrival I was a nervous wreck not knowing what to expect, if they’d show , if they’d be alive. Knowing that expectations were very high for a fun lobster dinner, I even went so far as to plan B with something else. My eight lobsters arrived alive and kicking accompanied by the most amazing clam chowder. I was so pleased and everyone thought it was such a great idea that I left your website information with my brother and his family and the neighbors. As food snobs we were delighted with the freshness and fatness of our lobsters. The clam chowder was awesome. WE spent hours cracking and picking the luscious pieces of Maine lobster with big buttery grins on our faces. So much more fun to make a mess with lobster at home than in a restaurant!!! Kudos on lobsters & steamers

Dear LobsterAnywhere:

Several weeks ago, I decided to celebrate a birthday with some close friends and treat myself and them to a feast of two of my favorite foods. As one who grew up in Maryland, and spent many vacations over the years in either Ogunquit or Martha’s Vineyard, I have been salivating for Maine lobsters and steamers for fourteen years since I last ate them. I have lived in San Diego for nearly 19 years and find the Pacific spiny lobsters pale in comparison to Maine lobsters in taste. To make it worse, they don’t even have claws worth eating!

I will also tell you that I was originally planning on ordering the lobsters and steamers from Legal Seafood because I have had gift certificates worth $150 for years and was eager to use them. When I checked their website and then spoke to Legal Seafood, however, I discovered that they would not ship the steamers to San Diego because they were concerned about breakage of shells. So I looked at your website and spoke to someone on your order line about what I wanted. First, I discovered that Legal Seafood’s prices are exorbitant compared to yours. Second, you told me that you had no problem shipping me steamers because you pack them extremely carefully; have received no complaints about breakage; and that you also ship more than the quantity ordered in order to allow for some minor breakage.

So it was with a little trepidation that I ordered six 1-1/2 lb. lobsters and four pounds of steamers for this feast. They arrived promptly at 12 noon the day on which they were promised, very well packed. I put the entire container in my refrigerator until it was time to cook them. There were several steamers whose shells had broken in transit, but breakage was minor and there were still enough to feed six people. The lobsters were all quite alive and kicking and, after they were steamed, absolutely scrumptious! Everybody loved them and the size was perfect (though one can never have too much lobster!).

Thank you for packing them so well and timing their arrival so perfectly. I will definitely order from you again – although I now don’t know what I am going to do with my Legal Seafood gift certificates! — Best regards, David Katz

If we had had any idea how succulent and sweet and tender this lobster is, we would have prepared them all for today! I purchased about 5 or 6 of your jumbo lobsters and sent them to my mother as a gift for mother’s day. My mother and 5 brothers all live in the city of Independence, Missouri and they always mentioned how difficult it is for them to come across really fresh seafood.

When I decided to make this purchase, I felt very excited for my mom, not to mention how surprised I was that your sales guy (phone representative) took my phone order although I had passed up the deadline by a couple of minutes. (He was a blessing and I wish I could remember his name.)
